Kotoko set for Tanzania tour
Kumasi Asante Kotoko will head to Tanzania this week for a friendly against a combined YANGA and Simba side as part of celebrations marking the country's 50th independence anniversary celebrations.
The Porcupine Warriors who top the Ghana league after the weekend win over Ebusua Dwarfs will hit the road on Thursday and play in Dar-es-Salam on December 11.
That game in Tanzania will be taking place at the same time when the sides seeking to topple Kotoko in the Glo Premier League will be in action and the Porcupine Warriors could return to find their lead toppled by Wa All Stars who are two points behind.
Their weekend league game was scheduled to be a meeting against Berekum Chelsea who are their closest challengers but that game has now been rescheduled to December 14th two days after Kotoko return from their Tanzania trip.
Meanwhile, a planned friendly between Kotoko and Kenya side Gor Mahia has been cancelled after the Kenyans decided the demands of the Porcupine Warriors were beyond their means.
Kotoko were due to spend a day in Nairobi for the game for which the Ghanaian champions wanted $20,000, five-star hotel accomodation according to Kenya sports website Michezo Afrika.
